Giveaway: Making Work At Home Work by Mary Byers

making-work-at-home-workAre you one of the millions of work-at-home moms or work-at-home wives? Do you struggle with separating your work time from your family time? Feeling a little stressed out about being pulled in every direction?

Mary Byers’ new book, Making Work at Home Work, might be the solution you’re looking for. This isn’t a book about starting a business, but a book for those already in the middle of balancing life and work when there’s no distinct boundaries between the two.

Mary doesn’t pull any punches. Her writing style is straightforward. She tells it how it is. She’s been in so many of our shoes. As a work-at-home mom, she knows the struggles of answering a business call with a screaming toddler in the background. She knows the strain an at-home business can put on a marriage.

While Making Work at Home Work is geared towards moms and “successfully growing a business and a family under one roof,” work-at-home women without children will still benefit from the many strategies and tips Mary includes. I highly suggest that any woman who works from her home pick up a copy to read. It doesn’t matter how big or small your business is, you will benefit from Making Work at Home Work.

In fact, I speak from personal experience – I don’t have children and I have learned a lot from Mary’s book. I did skim over two chapters  – The Parental Pact and Child Care Strategies – simply because they don’t apply to my situation. The rest of the book, however, is very beneficial and worth a read by every woman who manages any type business from her home.

Here’s the back cover copy…

Making Work at Home Work by Mary Byers is a guidebook for entrepreneurial women designed to help them think about their business in a whole new way. It covers important topics such as developing a successful business philosophy, balancing time between work and family, setting realistic goals, and handling the challenges of being a home-based CEO. In addition to including her own experiences, Byers profiles a dozen other women with home-based businesses who offer their hard-won advice.
