Review Policy

FOR MY READERS

I love to read and frequently receive books from publishers in exchange for my review and promotion. I also review books that I purchase or pick up at the local library. I do not distinguish between those books that I receive for free and those that I purchase since this has no bearing on my opinion of the book.

Any book that is featured on Ramblings-n-Writings has been read by me. I know some book bloggers post promotional material provided by publishers without reading the books. I’m not comfortable doing that. Personally, I’ve purchased and read books based on other blog reviews, and I’d like for my blog readers to know they can trust the books featured here.

If I don’t agree with a book or am uncomfortable recommending it, my review will say so. I believe in honesty and integrity. I also mention sensitive elements in books that may offend some readers.

If you see the promotional material for a book without a review from me, consider the book recommended (life probably got in the way of my review). :-) If you wish to contact me with a question about a review, you can click here.

FOR AUTHORS, PUBLICISTS, AND PUBLISHERS

I accept review copies and participate in blog tours. My reviews are honest and not sugarcoated. If I do not like a particular aspect of a book, I will not be rude, but will professionally state my opinion. My reviews are also posted on Amazon and Christian Book Distributors.

My preferred genre is Christian fiction including historical, mystery/suspense, chick lit, women’s fiction, and romance. I also review non-fiction and other books as they appeal to me.

If you have an upcoming blog tour, author interview, or new release, please feel free to contact me with the information. Make sure to include a requested review date so I can match my schedule if I’m interested. Please do not be offended if I opt to not accept a specific book for review, but continue to send requests as others may appeal to me.

I currently review books as part of Christian Fiction Blog Alliance, FIRST Wildcard Tours, and LitFuse. I also review for Bethany House, Zondervan, and Thomas Nelson.

  • Hi Kara, Lisa Minney at Two Lane Living referred me to you. I was excited about the publication because I once lived near Stumptown and I thought it was so cool that the Magazine came out of there. I’m the author of two books about women and West Virginia, The Blue Cotton Gown: A Midwife’s Memoir and Arms Wide Open: A Midwife’s Journey, just out this spring. The Blue Cotton Gown is about the courage of ordinary women I meet in my exam room, and some about me. Arms Wide Open goes back to the hippie, homesteading, homeschool, home birth days of the 1970s. I am Christian, but very liberal, if that would bother you. If you’d like to review Arms Wide Open, I can get you a copy from the publisher. I would be happy to do a guest interview if you like the book. You can see more about me and the books at my website, http://www.patriciaharman.com Peace, Patsy Harman, Morgantown, WV
