I have a passion for words, books, photos, and gardens. I love my life in the hills of West Virginia with my husband, twin daughters, one dog and two cats. My blog is a collection of personal experiences (including life with twins, divorce, and low income survival), book reviews, and professional advice.
My love for words started in childhood as an avid reader, and I’ve been studying words and design for over 15 years. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Publishing and have stayed current on trends for the past 10 years. My love for reading has also translated into work as a book reviewer for various publishers.
My professional career includes time in the classroom as a high school English teacher, a writer and ad designer for a local newspaper, an online English and Writing tutor, a freelance editor and designer and small business owner. Currently, I’m a stay-at-home mom caring for our twin baby girls and occasionally doing some independent contract work.
While website and blog design is a hobby, as a print designer, I won numerous awards from the West Virginia Press Association for color and black and white advertisements.
Even though all of my accomplishments are important to me and who I am, the most important thing is my faith in God. He has made me who I am today. Without Him, I would be nothing.
