My Choice of Suspense Fiction
At Saturday Christian Fiction Carnival, Amy asked: What’s the best Christian fiction horror or suspense novel that you’ve read? What book would you recommend to someone who wanted to try out these genres? What’s a book in these genres you want to read but haven’t yet?
I don’t know that I’ve read any Christian horror novels. Ever. But, in my opinion, the master of Christian suspense is Dee Henderson. Her O’Malley series had me sitting on the edge of my seat and unable to put any of the books down. A couple of times I even had to look over my shoulder just to make sure everything was okay.
(With that said about Dee, I did not enjoy her Uncommon Heroes series.)
Another suspense series that I really enjoyed was Mel Odom’s NCIS series (Paid in Blood and Blood Evidence). I enjoy the TV shows JAG and NCIS, so naturally I liked his series.
While I wish there was a new Henderson book on the horizon, I’ll settle for Odom’s next book in the series, Blood Lines. It’s due to hit shelves in January 2009.
