Rested and Relaxed

We had a wonderful time at Snowshoe Mountain over Labor Day weekend. It was so wonderful to get away from our every day life and just relax. In fact, it was so wonderful we stayed an extra night! =)
As we were enjoying the live entertainment, delicious food, relaxing hot tubs and pools, and driving around the countryside, I got to thinking about how long it’s been since my DH and I have done something like this for ourselves. We’ve taken a lot of trips over the past three years, but most have been to visit family or short day trips.
For our first anniversary (over three years ago), we spent a weekend at Snowshoe and really enjoyed it. After that, it was 20 months before we took another break. That trip was a last minute rush trip to Florida because of workers compensation. We had a good time and enjoyed the 5 days we were gone from the farm, but both of us were sick for most of the trip and some of our time was filled with attorney meetings. Needless to say, it wasn’t very vacation-y. =)
So, I think it’s safe to say that we deserved to enjoy this…
