This morning Jenny, our milk cow (in case you couldn’t tell by the size of her udder), gave birth to a healthy Black Angus / purebred Jersey bull, soon to be steer. He’s jet black and has an adorable 1-inch white tip on his tail and a little bit of white on his belly. The calf is very active and appears to be brave since he wanders away from mom quite a bit. However, when he realizes she’s too far away, he’ll let out a loud, pitiful ‘moo.’ So cute.
Sorry about the quality of the photo. My camera has started giving me fits. It works when I don’t necessarily need it, but when I need it, well, it’s a problem. But on the bright side, I discovered today with a little online research that the problem will be fixed free of charge by Canon.
